ENGINEER FOR FUSELAGE JIGS & STATIONS (m/f/d)

Hamburg, Bremen

Welcome to encass GmbH!

We bridge the gap between pioneering technology, digital innovation, and first-class service. Yet, what truly drives us isn't just processes and algorithms—it’s the people behind them. We firmly believe that outstanding results are achieved only when personal appreciation is put into practice and every voice counts. A work atmosphere that brings out the best in each of us forms the foundation of our shared success.

Northern Germany boasts a long tradition in the construction of passenger and transport aircraft. Over the years, this has led to the development of highly complex structural assembly lines that utilize large-scale fixtures for the assembly of robust fuselage structures. With an eye toward new, forward-looking programs, you, as a specialist in this field, will be investigating how the existing infrastructure can be adapted for the next aircraft generation.

Your Tasks

  1. You will analyze 3D CATIA models of the new aircraft design directly within the digital twins of existing large-scale fixtures and assembly docks.
  2. You will examine in detail the extent to which the new aircraft can be fixed, aligned, and assembled in the current fixtures to identify any necessary modifications or upgrades.
  3. Using DMU (Digital Mock-Up), you will simulate the insertion and removal process of the fuselage segments in the fixtures, as well as the accessibility for tools such as drilling and riveting.
  4. You will develop innovative concepts for flexible mixing systems (multi-model jigs) to enable the future production of different aircraft types at the same stations.
  5. In this role, you will act as the central link between aircraft development (Design Office), on-site fixture construction/maintenance, and external fixture suppliers.

Your Profile

  1. You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable field.
  2. You possess extensive professional experience in the design, adaptation, or layout of jigs and tools – ideally in large-scale fixture construction within the aerospace industry.
  3. You have excellent knowledge of CATIA V5 and/or 3DEXPERIENCE, particularly in assembly design, surface or fixture design, and DMU Space Analysis.
  4. You have a deep understanding of tolerance chains, referencing systems, and production processes.
  5. Fluency in German and English completes your profile.
